Strength Through Unity 2018: Zuid-Holland

Total Seclusion is a young hardcore skatepunk band with influences from the early 1980’s hardcore punk, modern day metal and a spark of insanity. With lyrics inspired by everything that bugs or fascinates them, aggressive stage performances and schizofrenic style changes, their music has the power, chaos and kick in the balls that you all deserve.
Subvert is a melodic hardcore band from Leiden, the Netherlands and works hard to deliver a raw, passionate and emotional show. Influences such as Being as an Ocean, Counterparts and Defeater are processed in a mix of catchy, emotional music with a technical edge.
The band members have a strong international background (United Kingdom, Sri Lanka, Germany and the Netherlands) and found each other in the area of Leiden. Even though the taste in music of the band members coincides for catchy and heavy music, in some fields the tastes differ wildly. This contributes to a unique sound full of diversity with room for experimentation.
The live shows can be best described as closing your eyes and finding yourself standing on an empty shoreline with the waves nearly grabbing you. Power, rawness and emotions in waves. The lyrics are raw, unfiltered heartfelt stories about life, with themes such as love and loss.
Eventhough the passionate live shows are the key strengths of Subvert, hard work is done for the releases and new productions to achieve good production value and a massive sound. Andreas Treur (drummer) runs his own studio. Having recorded for bands such as Take No Prisoners, Total Seclusion, START/OVER and Shitmachine, his expertise allows for in-house production with full control over every aspect of the music. This in-house production is an integral component of the songwriting, production and recording process.
The band is originally formed in 2012, and was reformed in 2015. In 2016, Subvert released their self-titled EP with lovely feedback from all over the Netherlands. The tracks on this EP show solid composition, well-thought-out heartfelt lyrics and heavy drums.
Subvert has shared the stage with Hotel Books, Convictions, Total Seclusion, START/OVER, Take No Prisoners, Dock 83 and To The Wolves.

Searching For Relief
These guys rather play their instruments than write a bio, obviously, so go see them live!
UK: When existing bands burn up, new bands rise from the ashes. Batwölf is one of those bands. After 7 years Black Volvo quit. Black Volvo was a regular in the UK punkscene, where they played festivals and local punk gigs. As the rock heart keeps pumping, Roy(guitar and Backing vocals) and Jaap(bass and vocals) wanted to rock on! They asked Frank(guitar and backing vocals) to join them, almost right after the final show of The Rudolfs. After 15 years of playing in this rocking band, it was time for Frank to get loud! The three men were ready to play some positive punkrock ‘n roll and get in the van! By adding Niels (Strychnine, Black Tarantula, Jellymeat) on drums the band was complete and Batwölf was born! Batwölf wants to play all they can play! Are you ready for their straight forward, positive punkrock ‘n roll? You betcha!!
Immersed is a melodic hardcore band hailing from The Hague. Emotionally laden songs packed with melodic, yet hard-hitting instrumentals are a sure promise for a night full of heavy breakdowns and honest, powerful lyrics. (FFO: Counterparts, Landscapes, Defeater)
